Times Square NYC
Times Square, located on 42nd St between Broadway and 7th Avenue, is a major tourist attraction.
The area is named after the occupant of One Times Square tower - The New York Times.
Times Square is also the venue for New Year's Eve ball drop.
The New Year's Eve celebrations at Times Square were started in 1904 on the roof of One Times Square tower by Adolph Ochs, the owner and publisher of The New York Times.
Though the New York Times moved out of One Times Square in 1913, the tradition of celebrating New Year's Eve at One Times Square tower continues.
Instead of fireworks display, New Year's Eve now is celebrated with the ball drop. The New Year's Eve ball drop tradition of New York city attracts visitors from all over the U.S. and World.
